How many times have you gone to a meeting and forgotten business cards? Keep a High Res JPEG copy of your business card on your cell phone and email it to the person you are networking with. It gives them something to look forward to and you immediately get their email address!
Do you have one of those magnetic or clip on name tags? Consider getting a second one and leave it in your car! You don’t network from home do you?
When you collect a new business card, you owe it to yourself (and your contact) to connect via email, phone or social networking within three days after meeting them. If no follow up meeting is necessary… at least say “Nice to Meet You!”.
If you expect people to find you… Search for yourself (your name), your business name, and what you do. Being #1 in your industry does not always a connection make!
Do you have blank pictures or pictures of business cards in your Outlook or Mac Contact Database? Update them with faces from connections head shots in LinkedIn.. Just Copy and Paste!
Set up a reminder in your calendar to update and review your to-do list either 1st thing in the morning… or better yet… at the end of your day!
