Being on non-profit and chamber of commerce boards, committees, and other community and business groups, gives you the opportunity to do good for your community.  The side effect is… that leaders, movers and shakers get to know you better.  What could be a better way to promote your business, than volunteering to help others?  You will learn, grow, and make lots of new friends. The upside is, it MAY help your businesses… but that should NEVER be your only ulterior motive.  People can smell that from miles away!
