Presentations

I attended one of Brian's presentations today. This one covered Relationship Marketing. As in the past, his material was fresh, compelling, and practical and I learned new strategies. Brian specializes in providing useful information that we can immediately put to use in our businesses.

Brian is talented at developing common sense, effective social media strategies for his clients, and implementing them in an efficient way. I strongly recommend Brian.

Tom Okarma – Vantage Point

Brian is a superb resource for social media and marketing in a social media age. He applies concepts from both traditional and electronic platforms and combines these into a solid, logical basis for marketing in today's business world. He is an outstanding speaker, delivering quality content in a dynamic format.

Ellen Huxtable – Advantage Business Concepts

Brian Basilico's presentation at the 36th Annual Leaders In Action seminar series addressing, “Social Networking for Business – Understanding the “Why” Behind the “How” was informative and enlightening. Attendees gained valuable knowledge to assist in managing social media marketing for their individual businesses and organizations. Brian has certainly earned the title of “Social Media Guru”. Thank you for an exceptional presentation!

Laura Witlox Middaugh – Crystal Lake Chamber of Commerce [hr]

We had Brian come and do a presentation on Social Media for Small Businesses at one of our events. Brian was very knowledgeable about social media and also had a state of the art video presentation that went with the training. I would highly recommend Brian and B2B Interactive Marketing Inc. to help you with your social media needs.

Jennifer Cannon – Legna Marketing Group

Brian is a dynamic speaker with a passion for his subject. He engages his audience with a balance of supporting statistics, real life examples and useful “how to” information. I recently attended his presentation on using social media in your nonprofit organization. He inspired many of us to get beyond our websites and into the world of Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. It obviously worked, because here I am!

Carol Alfrey – Conley Outreach Community Services [hr]

Brian presented a great program at the Bellwood Public Library on using social media to find a job. He's the best speaker I've brought into the Library: lively, very knowledgable, with a sophisticated and entertaining PowerPoint presentation. He showed a lot of interest in my patrons attending the program. I found him flexible, adaptable, and I learned a lot from him.

Elizabeth Neill – Outreach Librarian at Poplar Creek District Library [hr]

The Book

I loved this book! I just started my own small business and in this day and age, if you're not keeping up with social media, your competitors will! There's a right way and a wrong way to market your business and if you choose the wrong way, you can actually drive customers away. This book demystifies all of the various social media sites and how to approach them to maximize their benefit. Various anecdotes are used so people of any age can understand the concepts and they add to the book's reading enjoyment! Now I know that I need social media to be successful and as I navigate through the ins and outs, this book will be right by my side. Remember, it's not about you!

Dr. Kari Trotsky – Peaceful Endings [hr]

I warn you now. If you are looking for another marketing book with lots of pictures, charts and diagrams – something you can whip through in a night or two – this isn't it. This is 276 pages of information. But trust me – you will want to read – and even re-read – every word. The information Brian shares will change the way you network, if you use it.

Brian says the this book is a “Why-to” not a “How-to”. But I still found lots of “How-tos” here. Things like how to choose the best networking groups. How to build the 5 pages essential to every website. How to create great content. But Brian was right – he not only shares some of the “Hows” he also shares the “Whys”. So many “coaches” simply tell you “do this/don't do that” without ever explaining why. If you hate that as much as I do, then you will love Brian's book.

This is a great book that every small business owner who wants to build relationships should read. It's serious and at the same time humorous! Well worth adding to your library. We should have bought 2, one for me and one for the wife!

Jerry Needham – Pro Energy Consultants [hr]

Each chapter starts with a list of Bacon-izms – statements of the important points of each chapter. Things like getting people to like you takes time and effort. Web stats rarely tell you the whole story. You can't just copy and paste images, text or videos. You know this stuff. Brian just makes it all make sense.

It took me a week to to read the book. The information in it will be forever worthwhile. I intend to start back at Chapter 1 and take each tidbit of info and see how it applies to my business. I can't wait to see what happens when I do!
